🔧 Fotek MDT-10MX Photoelectric Sensor

📦 Product Overview

The Fotek MDT-10MX is a Thru-Beam Type photoelectric sensor, designed for precise object detection over long distances. This sensor operates by emitting a beam of light from the emitter to the receiver; when an object interrupts this beam, the sensor detects the presence of the object. It's ideal for applications requiring high-speed detection and long sensing distances.

⚙️ Applications

  • Conveyor Systems: Detects the presence or absence of items on conveyor belts.

  • Packaging Machines: Monitors the packaging process for quality control.

  • Material Handling: Ensures accurate positioning of materials in automated systems.

  • Assembly Lines: Verifies component placement and orientation.

  • Security Systems: Detects unauthorized access or movement in restricted areas.

📘 How to Use

  1. Mounting: Secure the emitter and receiver units facing each other, ensuring the light beam path is unobstructed. The emitter should be positioned to emit the infrared light towards the receiver.

  2. Wiring: Connect the sensor to your control system:

    • Emitter: Connect the brown wire to the positive voltage supply (10–30 V DC) and the blue wire to ground.

    • Receiver: Connect the brown wire to the positive voltage supply, the blue wire to ground, and the black wire to the control system input (NPN or PNP as required).

  3. Sensitivity Adjustment: Use the 270° trimmer on the receiver to adjust the sensitivity. Rotate the trimmer to increase or decrease the detection range, depending on the size and reflectivity of the target objects.

  4. Testing: Power on the system and test the sensor by introducing objects into the light beam path. The sensor should detect the interruption and send a signal to the control system.
